My kids, in particular, have a soft spot for mashed potatoes; they ask for them almost daily. I cook mashed potatoes at least once a week, despite my best efforts to increase their intake of veggies and greens. It may come as a surprise, but my husband and I both really enjoy this popular dish.

I recently discovered a unique twist on mashed potatoes from a TikToker named Jourdyn (@jeauxp). She suggested an unusual ingredient: chicken stock. This unexpected addition piqued my interest, so I decided to investigate its potential.

Jourdyn’s method involves leaving the potato skins on, which is the first unconventional step. She then boils the potatoes in a mixture of water and chicken stock. Intrigued by this approach, I decided to give it a try.
